Fix "Different Country" Error

If Google shows "Looks like you're in a different country than the family manager" when accepting the invite, follow these 5 steps:

1 Wallet & Subscriptions

Go to your Google Account / Google Wallet (pay.google.com), select "Wallet & subscriptions" (or Payments & subscriptions) on the left, and click "Manage payment methods".

2 Google Payments Center

Under your payment methods, scroll down and click the link for "Google payments center" (or go directly to pay.google.com).

3 Open Settings Tab

Inside Google payments center, click on the "Settings" tab in the top menu bar.

4 Close Payments Profile

Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the Settings page to "Payments profile status", and click "Close payments profile".

5 Select Reason & Confirm

When asked for a reason to close your profile:

👉 Select reason: "I don't want to give any reason" (or "I don't want to give a reason")

Then click Continue / Close profile.

✨ Done! Now open your Gmail invite again and click Accept Invitation — you will join successfully without any country mismatch error!
